Is it true that one can contract HIV/AIDS by eating a piece of watermelon or any type of food contaminated by blood from a HIV positive seller?

HIV/AIDS cannot be transferred by eating food with blood on it.

This is because, HIV in the blood does not survive long outside the body.

Also, the time the blood would spend in contact with the mucous membranes in the mouth is minimal, if at all, when consumed with food.

In conclusion, it is important to state that it takes about four weeks after a possible infection for the virus to be detected in the blood while it will take up to three months for a confirmatory test to be positive.
