President, Word Communication Ministries (WOCOM), Apostle Sunday Ayokunle Popoola, has expressed displeasure with the spate of killings in the country and called on the Federal Government to step up efforts on security.
Speaking at a march organised by WOCOM at its Onireke Christ Family Assembly, on Sunday, May 6, 2018, he said he was “sad and worried because too many lives are unnecessarily being lost and we feel we have been deceived by those in authority.”
The event featured church members clad in all-black as they went through the church premises, carrying placards that read: ‘We Say No to the Killing of Christians in Nigeria;’ ‘Enough of Herdsmen Wickedness in Nigeria;’ Nigeria Belongs to Us All,’ among others.
Speaking with newsmen at the rally, he said: “There is no way herdsmen should have access to AK47. What business do herdsmen have in churches? Obviously, we have started to really believe that this is ethnic cleansing and that the security agencies are looking away and probably aiding these killers.
“We are calling on the president and commander-in-chief to rise up to the assignment regarding what we all voted for. Some of us mobilised to vote for him because we thought he was going to make a difference. However, things are going from bad to worse and the bloodletting is getting too much.
