Herdsmen kill seven in Benue

Seven people among them three cousins of the Police Public Relations Officer in Benue State were killed on Sunday by armed herders.

The incident occured in Tse Gamber in Sengev and Nagi, Mbachohon Council wards all in Gwer West local government area of Benue.

Locals said that the fully armed herdmen early hours on Sunday invaded the two communities killed seven people and injured several others.

One of the locals who pleaded not to be mentioned claimed, “Four people were killed at Tse Gamber in Sengev Council ward while three others were killed at camp Nagi in Mbachohon Council ward located along Naka-Agagbe road.

While confirming the attack, the spokesperson for the state command, Catherine Anene said that three of her cousins were killed in the attack.

Anene said, “That is my village, three of my cousins were killed and that is the total number”.
