A housewife, Shamsiyya Musa, has dragged her husband, Muhammad Sani before a Shari’a court in Rigasa, Kaduna, Kaduna State for allegedly throwing out her belongings from her home.
“I have been living with my parents since he threw me out five months ago. He has not visited me there.
“He did not provide enough food and would beat me whenever I ask him money for food,” she said.
Muhammed denied some of the claims.
“I made efforts to see my mother in-law over the differences between my wife and I, but she was never at home,” he said.
The judge, Malam Abubakar Salisu-Tureta, asked Muhammed if he still loved his wife and he replied, no and pleaded for divorce.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the judge asked the defendant to make the divorce pronouncement and he made one pronouncement of divorce.
Salisu-Tureta confirmed their marriage dissolved on one pronouncement of divorce.
