Cultism, the act of a group of people coming together to secretly perpetrate some acts; usually criminal, is rampant among youths in Nigeria.
Cultists are known for vices like robbery, violent crimes, disrespect to laid down rules, drugs, disturbing peace of the society through cult wars and murder.
People that engage in cultism are always at risk of violent death; they live in suspicion of every one and do not even respect human relationship boundaries.
Their acts make it difficult to concentrate on positive issues, especially school work and they are known for low grades, abuse of peers, lack of respect for family and bringing sorrow to their relatives.
To curb cultism, children should be given attention and premium parental care, laws against cultism must be implemented effectively, there should be continuous enlightenment and there should be regulation of access to drugs.
Cultism is everywhere, even in secondary schools, this is the time to stop the menace.
