Harmony between govt arms, key to national unity — Hon Joshua Audu

Published by

A member of the House of Representatives representing Lavun/Edati/Mokwa Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Abuja, Hon. (Dr.) Joshua Audu Gana, has acknowledged the cordial relationship existing between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.

He also commended his colleagues in the National Assembly, particularly the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, for their support through robust legislation, contributing to the nation’s peace and unity in the present dispensation.

The Federal lawmaker also applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to national development, adding that his exemplary leadership has brought about peace, progress, and development to the country.

Joshua Gana, a National Assembly member on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party and a son of Professor Jerry Gana, a former Minister of Information, made this submission in an interactive session with select journalists on Tuesday in Bida Local Government Area of the State, in his goodwill Sallah message to the people of his constituency. He praised the people for their tolerance, cooperation, and support despite their religious differences.

He emphasized that sentiments of any sort have been the bane of development in the country over the years, saying, “I am convinced that the people of Niger South Senatorial District, (otherwise known as Zone ‘A’) and particularly Lavun, Edati, and Mokwa Federal Constituency, are true brothers and sisters who I can vouch for, for an unbiased unity and sincerity of purpose in their political disposition.”

Hon. (Dr.) Joshua Gana pointed out that no doubt unity and love have come to stay among the people of the constituencies regardless of religion, to foster progress and development in the Zone.

Gana urged Muslim faithful to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with love, peace, and unity as exemplified by the entire Nupe Kingdom, which recognizes unity and peace as essential tools to overcome the current challenges.

He admonished traditional institutions in parts of the country to emulate the exemplary style of leadership of the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, whom he said, “inculcates peace, tolerance, and unity among the people of his domains.”

He said, “Such values, if embraced by all the traditional institutions in the country, would make Nigeria a better and greater nation as we have no other nation than Nigeria,” he maintained.
