Hardship: Senator Yari donates 200 trucks of maize to Zamfara residents

The Senator representing Zamfara West senatorial district, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has made a fresh donation of 200 trucks of maize for direct distribution to people across Zamfara State.

In a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday signed by the chairman publicity committee Ibrahim Muhammad Dan Madamin Birnin Magaji said the fresh donation from former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar came at a better time when people are in dear need of such assistance in the state.

According to him,Chairman of the state distribution committee and the leader of the A A Yari political organization, Hon Lawal M Liman (Gabdon Kaura) made the disclosure shortly after a meeting with State and local government Distribution Committees held in Gusau, the State Capital on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

He said , Gummi and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas will each receive 20 Trucks while the remaining 11 Local Government Areas of the State are to get 12 Trucks each of the commodity.

The Chairman explained that a total of 230,400 Persons are targeted under the distribution pattern of the palliatives, with 1000 beneficiaries in each of the 147 electoral Wards of the State of the eleven LGAs with 12 trucks while the remaining three LGAs will benefit with 1,500 per ward.

Speaking further, Hon. Lawal M Liman emphasized that in the light of recent flooding in Gummi and high prices of food items in the market, the former Governor was compelled to make the gesture so that it would cushion the peoples’ hardship and bring down the prices of food stuff.

While charging members of the distribution committees at all levels to remain above board as usual, the chairman re-affirmed that citizens regardless of their religious or political affiliations are to be taken along in the distribution exercise.
