Hard times not forever, CP tells Gombe residents

Gombe State Police Commissioner, Etim Oqua has expressed optimism that hard times are never forever stating that the Command, under his leadership, is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of the State.

The steps are coming following recent incidents in neighboring Adamawa, the Command, therefore, warned members of the public to be law-abiding and never engage in any form of criminal activities.

The Police Commissioner explained that the primary objective of the warning is to prevent any potential criminal activities and maintain law and order within the State.

Etim Oqua has therefore directed all Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to maintain a heightened level of vigilance in their respective areas of responsibility.

They have also been directed to collaborate closely with other security agencies to share information and intelligence, ensuring a coordinated effort to address any emerging threats.

CP Oqua Etim acknowledged the concerns and challenges faced by the residents of Gombe and urges them to remain calm and law-abiding during these difficult times.

The Commissioner assured the public that the government is actively working to alleviate their hardships and restore normalcy stressing that, “Everyone needs to remember that tough times are temporary, and together, we can overcome these challenges.”

In addition, the Gombe State Police Command advised parents and guardians to be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their children or wards.

Parents are strongly advised to warn their children against associating themselves with bad companies or engaging in activities that may compromise their safety or lead them down the wrong path. By instilling good values and providing guidance, parents play a crucial role in shaping the future of their children and protecting them from potential harm.

The Gombe State Police Command stated it is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents as contained in a statement by ASP Mu’azu Ahmed, Command.

The Command encouraged prompt reporting of any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through designated phone number stressing the cooperation and support of the public are vital in maintaining a peaceful and secure environment.
