Gunmen suspected to be assassins have killed a welfare officer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gusau, Zamfara state branch, Barrister Ahmad Muhammad Kotorkoshi in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the chairman of NBA in Zamfara state Junaidu Abubakar Esq lamented that the late Barrister Ahmad was gruesomely murdered at his Kotorkoshi residence in the early hours of Wednesday.
“With deep heartfelt and great shock, I hereby announce the sudden gruesome murder of our colleague and an Exco member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gusau Branch, Ahmad Muhammad Abubakar Esq”.
Late NBA member Popularly known as “Ahmad Kotorkoshi” was killed by unknown gunmen, who until his death was the Welfare Secretary of the NBA Gusau Branch.
“Ahmed was gruesomely murdered by unknown murderers/killers/assassins at about 0030hrs of today, Wednesday, 5th day of July 2023, at his residence along Mada Road in Kotorkoshi town, of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State”.
“According to the information we received, the murderers stormed his residence at about 0015 hrs of today where they intercepted and attacked his wife whom they asked her husband’s whereabouts and refused to tell them, and they started beating her mercilessly, and she screamed.
“On hearing his wife screaming, he (Ahmed Esq.) opened his door and came out. While coming out, the killers attacked him with a matchet and dragged him to the back of his house and inflicted matchet cuts on his body which resulted in his death after which they left him dead in cold blood and fled”.
Late Ahmed’s funeral prayer was performed today at 0900 hrs in Kotorkoshi town in accordance with Islamic rights.
“Ahmad was a good person, an active member of the branch, a humble and an easygoing person”.
“He was survived by two (2) wives, children, and relatives, May Allah forgive him and grant him Aljanna firdaus”. The statement reads.
