Gunmen kidnap traditional ruler, 20 others in Taraba

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of Tuesday, kidnapped 21 people including a traditional ruler in the pupule area of Yorro local government in Taraba state

The gunmen according to locals in the area, invaded the community around 2:am took away 21 members of the community.

Reports from the locals indicate that, a 2nd class chief of the area, HRH. Alhaji Umaru Abubakar Nyala, his son and pregnant daughter as well as an orderly were kidnapped during the operation.

“21 members of our community here in Pupule, Yorro local were kidnapped this morning. The gunmen invaded our community around 2: am and carried out the attack.

“They kidnapped a 2nd class chief of our area, HRH. Alhaji Umaru Abubakar Nyala, his son and pregnant daughter as well as the orderly” the source narrated.

Taraba state police command through the PPRO, Usman Abdullahi also confirmed the attack.
