Gunmen kidnap paramount ruler, wife, kill four in Kaduna

The Paramount ruler of the Adara in Kachia local government area of Kaduna state, Maiwada Galadima, alongside his wife, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

It was also gathered that four others on his convoy were killed in the process of his abduction.

A reliable source revealed that the monarch was kidnapped on his way to his palace in Kachia on Friday.

The source said the traditional ruler and his wife were abducted at gunpoint, while some of his aides were killed and some others sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

Commenting on the incident, the Chairman of Kachia local government, Mr Peter Agite, who confirmed the incident said the effort to ensure that the monarch was released in good health has started.

While calling for calm Agite disclosed security had been alerted and they are working round to get to the abductors.

As at the time of filing this report, it could not be confirmed whether the abductors have made a financial demand.

Also, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo, could not be reached for confirmation.

It will be recalled that this was coming 24 hours after Kasuwar Magani in Kajuru, local government was involved in a communal clash that led to the death of 55 people.
