Guber poll: Aiyedatiwa, best choice for Ondo — Group

Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, a political group, Sure Advocacy for Better Ondo State (SABOS), said on Thursday that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains the best option among the candidates vying for the seat.

The group, which adopted Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy as its preferred choice, said the achievements recorded by the governor in the last six months positioned him as the best man for the job.

Speaking during a press conference in Akure, the state capital, the Director General of SABOS, Mr. Yunus Adogba, maintained that Aiyedatiwa is the best the state can produce at the moment, and the group has unanimously agreed to work together towards ensuring his victory.

Adogba noted that none of the candidates from other political parties can stop Aiyedatiwa from being the next governor of the state, saying the governor will turn the state around within a short time if elected.

He praised Aiyedatiwa’s display of unreserved commitment towards the development and growth of the state, saying the group will always be ready to support his political aspirations.

He urged the governor to ensure his administration continues to pursue policies and programs that will accelerate the development of the state.

Adogba, however, directed all organs and supporters of SABOS to brace for the great task ahead to ensure Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory.

He said, “From the credentials and fact-checking of the major party flag bearers, and in line with the mission of Sure Advocacy for Better Ondo State, which is to seek a better life for all Ondo State indigenes and residents, it becomes imperative to voice our support for the most capable among the party candidates for the position of the number one citizen of our dear state.

“At this juncture, the Apex organ of SABOS, the Central Executive Council of Sure Advocacy for Better Ondo State, has unanimously adopted the candidacy of the All Progressive Congress (APC), His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the choice candidate to work with and to support in the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 16, 2024, in Ondo State.

“On this basis, it has directed all organs, lovers, and sympathizers of SABOS to brace up for the big task ahead.”

He called on Governor Aiyedatiwa to intensify efforts towards improving the living standards of the people at the grassroots through the provision of basic amenities.

Adogba lamented the high level of unemployment and poverty among residents of Ondo State and also asked Governor Aiyedatiwa to focus on the empowerment of small-scale businesses to boost the state’s economy.

The SABOS Director General also cautioned all political gladiators against disrupting the existing peace in the state during and after the forthcoming governorship election.

He urged all stakeholders to “preserve Ondo State’s integrity in the electioneering space while pursuing their personal ambitions before, during, and after the election.”
