National Coalition for Unity and Peace has called on the Inspector General of police to redeploy the three commissioners of police sent to delta state for the purpose of Saturday’s election.
Similarly, the coalition called on the resident electoral commissioner in the state to change the returning officer and collation officers at the state and local got level so as restore the confidence Nigerians have in the electoral umpire.
The Protem  Secretary of the coalition and a staunch member of All Progressives Congress, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, told journalists in Asaba on Tuesday that a particular governorship candidate was bent at rigging the election even as the police and returning officers have allegedly been compromised.
Dr Ojougboh prayed that  INEC should harken to the voice of the people by doing the needful in order to avoid any form of anarchy.
The coalition appealed to the electorates to conduct themselves in orderly manner during and after the election and avoid any thing that can jeopardize the election.
“I am told from very reliable sources that a particular candidate is hell-bent on rigging the governorship election.
“The particular candidate has compromised INEC, that INEC has ceded the state returning officer to him, conceded the local government collation officers to him.
“As the protem secretary for the coalition, I worry very much because this could be a recipe for crisis and so we are appealing that if there is any iota of truth in the allegations, that the INEC should change the electoral officers and the IG should redeploy the three CPs that were fraudulently brought to Delta.
“We will not allow such thing to happen, we don’t want any party to be short changed to prevent anarchy and bloodshed,” he said.
But INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Bukola Ojeme, debunked the allegation that INEC has been compromised.
