Group storms UK embassy, protest $9.6bn judgement

The coalition of Civil Society Groups (CCSG) on Monday stormed the British High Commission and Embassy of Island in Abuja to protest the $9.6 billion judgement against Nigeria.
Process and Industrial (P&ID) had got an arbitration decision against Nigeria following a botched gas contract agreement with a 7% annual interest rate.
The protesters vow to continue their action for the next one week until the judgement is reversed.
Numbering hundreds, the protesters carried various placards with inscription such “$9.6bn judgement is a fraud,” “No to illegal take over of our national assets,” “Nigeria rejects fraudulent judgment from British judge,” among others.
