Group reiterates call for restructuring to save Nigeria

An organisation, The New Nigeria Movement (NNM), comprising patriotic-minded Nigerians from various backgrounds has reiterated the call for restructuring in order to save Nigeria.

NNM which has been at the vanguard of restructuring is worried about the direction the country is being herded by the ruling class, fearing the worst should government fail to equitably reorder the country.

The organisation also proposed a 10-region arrangement for the country, saying 99 per cent of the citizens of Nigeria are aware that the country is gradually becoming a disaster.

The association disclosed these in a statement on Saturday, saying its aim is to explore the means of rescuing Nigeria from the precipice of a completely failed state.

According to the NNM, “Aside maybe less than one percent of the population, almost everyone agrees that Nigeria today is a humongous disaster on account of series of evil leaderships and the circumstances in which they operate; everyone is in fear, with none, both rulers and ruled, whose security is assured.

“The present ruling classes, regardless of party, being accomplices in the drama and with their known backgrounds and methodologies, are incapable of meeting the challenges of good governance and secure society.”
