Group mobilises Anambra residents to support Soludo’s continuity

Published by

A mammoth crowd of politicians from various parts of the Anambra Central Zone gathered in Awka on Saturday to affirm their support for the Anambra State Governor’s, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s, continuity in office beyond the 2025 governorship election.

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the rally was organised by the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko, through a political organisation, Solution Team Organisation, to drum support for the governor not just for his second term bid alone but to show support for his strides in Anambra in less than two years in office.

Speaking at the zonal rally, which had the theme Soldiering the Solution Agenda, Onuko said, “The people you are seeing here are not just members of our political party, the APGA, but people from the Labour Party, the PDP, the APC, and many others.

“The central thing that brought us all together is the fact that we love what Soludo is doing in Anambra State. In just one year and seven months, the governor has demonstrated his commitment to transform the face of Anambra State.”

He went further to reel out the many achievements of the Soludo administration, including the employment of over 5,000 teachers and 3,000 health workers, the flagging off and construction of several toads across Anambra State, the construction of the Ekwulobia flyover bridge, and many others, saying such stride in a short while was unprecedented.

Other speakers at the event, including the national coordinator of the Solution Team Organisation, Chief Akaoma Jideaku, praised the turnout at the rally, saying it is a huge testament to the love people have for Soludo.

“We didn’t know we would have this massive turnout. We are overpopulated; we did not expect this massive crowd. Those who have not gotten seats should be patient. We will bring seats, even canopies.

“This solution team is a movement of persons of all political parties, all of whom believe in Soludo.”

The crowd erupted in jubilation when the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and the Governor’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Obiogbolu, made their way into the arena and announced their representation for Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The rally may have signalled the beginning of a second term bid for the governor, just as another governorship hopeful, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, last week announced his movement from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling his readiness for the 2025 Anambra governorship election.

The rally also witnessed the presence of the National President of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) and some supporters of the state-ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
