Group inaugurates movement for Tinubu, Kaura in Kebbi

A newly formed political pressure group, launched to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasiru Idris ahead of the 2027 elections, has been inaugurated in Kebbi State in anticipation of their second terms in office.

The group, known as the “Tinubu, Kaura Gwandu (TKG) Continuity Movement,” was launched on Thursday in Birnin-Kebbi, the state capital, with much pomp and pageantry to celebrate the developmental strides of Kebbi State Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, and President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Leaders and hundreds of members of the association marched from the venue of their meeting to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi to express their support and solidarity for the numerous developmental projects in the state.

In his remarks at the Government House, the Chairman of TKG, Alhaji Kabiru Labbo-Jega, stated that the pressure group is widely spread across the state, with a mission to highlight the governor’s people-oriented initiatives to the people of the state and beyond.

According to him, the movement is well-structured to mobilize support for the governor and promote the achievements of both the governor and the president.

He praised Governor Nasir’s recent empowerment program, which he noted has positively impacted 65,000 people in the state, adding, “We have a mission to bring a new dawn in the political history of the state.”

The Director General of TKG, Alhaji Kabiru Sani-Giant, in his remarks, described Governor Nasir Idris as a God-given leader full of generosity and commended the governor for his benevolence and commitment to societal development.

He assured the governor of unwavering grassroots support and solidarity in his quest to develop the state, saying, “We appreciate what you are doing for the state, and we are ready to support your cause.”

“You have modernized Birnin Kebbi, built roads, and provided food and fertilizer for free. What you see here is the state executives and local government executives that are here for a courtesy visit,” he said.

In response, Governor Nasir Idris expressed his gratitude to the leaders and members of the association for their collective solidarity with his administration.

He encouraged the people to adopt the habit of constructive criticism against any government to promote a healthy democracy. The governor reiterated that no amount of criticism would deter him from doing what is best for the citizens.

“If you want to criticize, do so with verifiable facts. Kauran Gwandu will not call anybody and give them money. Kebbi government’s money belongs to the people of Kebbi State,” he said.
