The Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Umar Buba has been commended for flagging off of a 2.5km rural road in Zaranda village of Toro LGA of Bauchi State with the aim of opening up rural areas in the Senatorial District.
The commendation was made by a Bauchi based political pressure group known as ‘Concerned Citizens of Bauchi State’ during an interaction with a selected group of Journalists on Monday.
The group has therefore thrown its weight of support behind the Senator stressing that he needs to be encouraged to discharge his duties and provide effective representation for his constituency.
Chairperson of the group, Musa Nadabo stressed that the road project when completed will boost economic activities of the communities in the area as they will find it easy to transport their farm products to the markets.

The group added that the project, which is one of the numerous embarked upon by the Senator as Constituency projects is a demonstration of his effective and efficient representation of the people which is the primary reason of his election in the first place.
He also stated that the, “momentum, relevance and clout that Senator Shehu Buba is gathering at the moment, has become a nightmare to the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.”
According to him, Shehu Buba, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Security and Intelligence is becoming more popular as a grassroot politician bringing the dividends of democracy to not only the people in his Constituency but the state at large.
He said “it is pertinent to mention that, the Governor of Bauchi State does not just see the distinguished Senator as a political opponent but he has labelled him as a targeted enemy who should be politically crushed or even eliminated.”
Musa added that, “This has made the Governor lose his sleep over the continued relevance and clout that the Senator is building since he was elected into the Senate in 2023.”
He continued, “Already, various political groups, particularly youths and women have been calling on the Senator to contest for the governorship seat in the 2027 gubernatorial elections.”
“Although the present Governor is serving his second and final term, the political momentum and support the Senator is gathering continues to send shock across the governor’s camp who many see as emperor in the State,” he opined.
He called on the people of Bauchi South Senatorial District to continue to support Senator Shehu Buba Umar in his determination to ensure that they received the best of the dividends of democracy.
He concluded saying that, “The Governor fears that, should the Senator win the seat in 2027, no doubt he will be subjected to investigations especially with the way he is mismanaging the State’s resources under the guise of white elephant projects”.
Musa Nabado then assured that the group will continue to mobilize more support for the future endeavours of the Senator especially as soon as he makes his political decisions for 2027.
