Group calls for African unity to accelerate continental devt

A non-governmental organization, Africa Solidarity Movement (ASM), has emphasized the importance of unity among African countries as a key factor in driving rapid development across the continent.

The organization, initially founded in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, collaborates with other West African countries to promote African heritage and culture.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General of African Solidarity Movement (ASM) Nigeria, Ambassador Abdulmajeed Oyeniyi, and released to journalists in Osogbo, the urgent need for Africans to take charge of their productivity and maintain their rightful position globally was highlighted.

Ambassador Oyeniyi also mentioned that, during a recent event in Ghana, outstanding individuals from various African countries were honoured with awards of excellence in recognition of their contributions to the development of their respective nations.

“ASM summit served as a platform for young people from across African countries to learn, network, and share ideas on issues that affect their lives.

“The event, brought together young people, policymakers, development partners, and international Organizational and afforded the participants the ample opportunity to discuss the Challenges facing young people in Africa and to develop innovative solutions to address these Challenges”

“We also reiterated on the need to ensure unity among the countries in Africa, as part of the part of ways to drive speedy pace of development in the continent.

“We called for an increase in investment in economic and social development factors to improve the development index of African nations.

He listed the recipients of the award to include; His Excellency
Senator Nurudeen Ademola jackson Adeleke (Ambassador of Nigeria Youth); Mr Salihu Demos, The Director General of Nigeria Television Authority as (Ambassador of Youth in Africa); High chief Ibrahim Gwaggo (Ambassador of Youth in Africa); High chief Dr Adi Pajo
Ambassador of Youth in Africa; General Christopher Musa OFR; Chief of Defence Nigeria; Ambassador of Youth in Africa; High chief Habeeb Okunola (Ambassador of Youth in Africa) among others.
