The Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) is not popular, how do you intend to convince the electorate to vote for your party?
All praise be to Allah, our party was among few political parties in the state that have fielded all elective positions, from governorship to state House of Assembly members, I believe that come 2019 general elections, GPN is prepared to slug it out with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). We have plans to, embark on grass-root mobilisation, house to house enlightenment and sensitisation tour for people to know our party’s mission and vision for the state. I solicit support from the electorate for the party to achieve its dream and ambition of taking Zamfara state government house in 2019, God willing.
Does breast sucking lead to sagging?
What blueprint do you have for the people particularly civil servants in the state?
Let me assure people that not only civil servants would benefit but every citizen of the state. The blueprint is for everyone to smile if given the mandate; our party’s commitment is to better the condition of civil servants; better remunerations, welfare package and conducive atmosphere of service is guaranteed for all employees of the state. My party is a party with a difference; we have people at heart, I hate corruption and drugs abuse among youth. That is why I stand by my words that any party that wants to make alliance with us must be honest, transparent, and not corrupt, and above all, their supporters must be free from drug. When youths are free from drugs, their ability to participate in politics would be accepted, they will have the capability to interact, make meaningful contributions and desist from corrupt practices.
What is your plan towards poverty reduction?
To be sincere, our youths are now redundant; graduates without employment, drop out of school and no job to access, youths became so lazy as a result of unemployment. If I become the next governor in the state, it is a promise I made to myself that agriculture would receive top priority as a means to engage the teeming youths with a source of livelihood.
Agriculture is very important to the development of the state. Zamfara was well known for its agricultural activities and it used to provide employment to over 70 per cent of people in the state until recently. Agriculture is also the basis for industrial raw materials.
Once you are able to create the necessary linkage between industry and agriculture, you find that there are various crops and in each crop you have tremendous opportunity for employing our teeming youths that are unemployed. So, this is an area that will not only generate requisite food production for the state but also create massive employment.
How do you intend to provide purposeful leadership with a difference?
Let me remind you that politics is all about attaining and using power in public life to be able to influence decisions that affect society. Principally, that should be a worthy cause but what we experience today with most of our politicians is the crude politics of mediocrity, greed, hate, nepotism, insensitivity and confusion.
Most of our politicians, if not all, base their campaign on the problems that are on ground but when their dreams are accomplished, they start to complain about same problems, this would make them miss the political road and get lost at a time that was necessary for them to better the conditions of those that give them their mandates.
Leadership is the most crucial factor in development; it is not just an insignia for display, but about performance, producing results and fulfilling a mission in the interest of those that are led.
What should people expect from you if given the mandate?
It is my responsibility as a leader, if Zamfara electorate gives me their mandate, to harness the abundant human and material resources for the common good. You see, good governance is acknowledged as the basis for meaningful and sustainable development, it is about the people whose well being is the primary responsibility of the leaders. Good governance is nothing but common sense, not common science. I promise to display my sense with talents.
