Governorship poll: Bayelsa State stakeholders demand fresh date

Published by

Bayelsa state indigenes on Tuesday stormed the national headquarter of the Independent National  Electoral Commission, (INEC).

Led by the State Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha Jonah (rtd)  demanded for a shift in the initial date fixed for the governorship election in the state by the electoral umpire.

INEC had picked November 2, 2019 for the conduct of the election.

But the stakeholders said the date coincided with the day for their yearly thanksgiving service.
