Governor Makinde, we need more of your good works

I hereby use this medium to commend the governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi  Abiodun  Makinde for his good deeds in Oyo State. Governor Makinde, who was sworn in on May 29, 2019 for a four-year term was re-elected in 2023 for a second term in office.

During his first term in office, he made life easier for workers, students and pensioners to mention a few. Oyo State workers enjoyed his government due to payment of salaries even before month end. The governor also paid pensions to pensioners and cancelled school fee for students in primary and secondary schools.

During the initial period of fuel subsidy removal, there were government buses for people allowing them to pay lesser fares. Building of bus terminals was done which has made transportation out of Oyo State easier and safer; goods sent in and out of Oyo State are always in safe hands.

However, as Oliver Twist said, “more,” there are some more expectations which I want to governor to look into in the coming year 2024.

Reduction of state institutions school fees is of paramount importance so that more students will have opportunity to enter higher institutions.

I also want him to create more jobs for graduates. Lastly, the condition of many roads in Oyo State is not good. I want the governor to authorise their rehabilitation as soon as possible to ease movement for residents.
