Governor Inuwa Yahaya mourns emir of yamaltu

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has expressed grief over the demise of the Emir of Yamaltu, His Royal Highness,  DSP Hassan Usman Jonga ( Rtd) describing it as very unfortunate coming at this time of democratic transition in the state.
He also described the death of the traditional ruler as a great loss, not only to his immediate family or Yamaltu Emirate but the entire state and the country at large.
The Governor stated that the late Emir was a humble and dedicated ruler who lived a life of service to his people, the state and the nation and left behind, a legacy of honour worthy of emulation by all.
He noted that the late DSP Usman Jonga worked tirelessly with other royal fathers in the state and offered counsels and fatherly guidance for the peace, unity,  growth and development of the state in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
Inuwa  Yahaya said that his interactions with the late monarch always left him with the impression of a humble leader who cared for his subjects as well as the unity and progress of the state.
He, therefore, extended his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, to the royal family, people of Yamaltu Emirate and the entire state over the great loss and prayed Almighty Allah to grant the late Emir Aljannat Firdaus.
The late DSP Hassan Jonga who was installed as the 3rd Emir of Yamaltu on 11th April 2008, died yesterday, (Wednesday) 28th August 2019 in Gombe at the age of 73. As announced by the Emirate Council, the funeral prayers will take place today, (Thursday) 29th August 2019 by 2:30 pm at the Emir’s palace in Dadinkowa, Yamaltu Deba Local Government, Gombe State.
