Governor Aiyedatiwa to Grace Closing Ceremony of 18th Western Zonal Conference and Sponsorship for ICAN Members

In a gesture of commendable support and recognition for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), His Excellency, Mr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State, has formally confirmed his attendance as the Special Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony of the 18th Western Zonal Conference. The event is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2024.

The Governor’s commitment was expressed during a meeting with conference officials led by Mr. Abiodun Adedeji FCA, the Conference Chairman. Governor Aiyedatiwa, while addressing the delegation, expressed gratitude for the condolences extended by ICAN regarding the passing of his predecessor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu. He described Akeredolu as a friend, helper, and dependable boss.

Commending the quality and competence of ICAN members in Ondo State, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the noble status of the institute, deserving of utmost respect. He also extended his appreciation for the congratulatory messages from ICAN on his assumption of office as the Executive Governor of Ondo State.

The Governor’s acceptance to preside over the closing ceremony marks a significant moment for ICAN members and the conference participants, underscoring the importance of their professional contributions.

Before the meeting with the Governor, the conference officials visited key government offices in the state, including the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, and the Accountant General, Mrs. Toyin Oni FCA. The delegation included Chief Bunmi Alade, FCA, the facilitator and ICAN Western Zone Ambassador, Dr. Temitope Babajide, FCA, the Conference Director and Ibadan Chairman, Mrs. Aderonke Ajibade, FCA, the Conference Accountant and Osogbo Chairman, Mr. Kehinde Saidu, FCA, Mr. Dada Solomon FCA, Vice Chairman Lekki, Funmi Olaniyi, ACA, Mr. Adediran Abidogun, FCA a past chairman of Osogbo and District Society and Hon. Idowu Otetubi, FCA, the Vice Chairman of Akure who was represented by one of the senior members of the profession.

The 18th Western Zonal Conference promises to be a momentous occasion with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s participation, highlighting the collaboration and mutual appreciation between the state leadership and the esteemed institute.
