The Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria (RAN) have called on the Nigerian government, the church, and society to take immediate action to restore the country to a path of morality, as the involvement of youths in social vices has reached an alarming level.
This message was conveyed as the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria marked the 2023 anti-social vices club anniversary on Saturday in Lagos, with the theme “Taking Territories; Manifesting Godly Virtues.”
Coun. Bitebo Eregoba (Post Plen.), the Royal Ambassador Marshal, delivered his address at the New Covenant Baptist Church in Agege, Lagos.
He extended his felicitations to the National Coordinator and members of the Anti-Social Vices Club on the anniversary celebration, reflecting on the club’s journey over the past nineteen years in its mission to restore morality among the youth.
Bitebo emphasised that the federal, state, and local governments, along with the church and society, have a significant role in reinstating sanity among the youth.
He pointed out that social vices turn people away from God and bring about unfavourable consequences.
“On behalf of RAN, I extend felicitations to the National Coordinator and all members of the Anti-Social Vices Club as the club marks this day on the 21st of October, 2023, nationwide.
The journey that began about 19 years ago has now blossomed to this commendable level and continues to grow.
We encourage everyone not to waver in our mission, which is to combat all social vices plaguing our nation and the world at large.
As we do this with the theme ‘Taking Territories: Manifesting Godly Virtues,’ may God grant us the grace to succeed in Jesus’s name, Amen! Go and conquer!
“We call on governments at all levels, parents, and society at large to refocus their efforts on reshaping our youth in the way of God.
They should redirect their energies towards instilling a culture of godly behaviour and morality in the youth. We should not be content with the adverse manifestations that vices in our society are causing,” he lamented.
In his words, Eegundiran Oluwakayode Abiodun, the National Coordinator of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria, stated that the Anti-Social Vices Club, as the pet club of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria, was established to campaign against social vices.
He urged the youth to avoid social vices, as they hinder the grace of God in their lives. He also called on parents and society to follow the path of God.
“The Anti-Social Vices Club is a pet club of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria. Its main aim and objective, established 19 years ago, is to work and campaign against all forms of social vices among the youth.
As we celebrate this year’s National Anti-Social Vices Club Day, I want to remind our youth that social vices cut short the grace of God in our lives. People of God should steer clear of all forms of social vices to expand the territory for Christ.
“It’s important to emphasise that the Bible does not support vices, so morality and holiness should not be disregarded in our society.
Our parents, religious leaders, and community leaders must educate the youth about the dangers of their involvement in social vices such as robbery, kidnapping, internet fraud, and the like.
They should expose them to the word of God to help in taking more territory for Christ,” Eegundiran said.
