Gov Yari mourns death of 3 APC LG party chairmen

GOVERNOR Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State has on Friday received with shock, the sad news of the death of 3 Pilgrims who were involved in an auto crash along Makka-Madina Highway in Saudi Arabia.

 

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau on Friday and signed by his media aide, Ibrahim Dosara.

The statement said, ‘The deceased pilgrims who were also local government party Chairmen are Alhaji Ja’afaru Gidan Sambo of Kaura Namoda Local Government, Alhaji Modi Mallamawa of Shinkafi Local Government
and Alhaji Abdullahi Shugaba Ruwan Doruwa of Maru Local government.

‘The Governor described their death as monumental loss to the government and people of the state in point of weighing up their contributions to the development of their respective local government areas and the state in general.

Yari said as pilgrims who had just concluded their Hajj rites met their death while going to Madina from Mecca to perform their Ziyarat of some important places in Madinah as required by the pilgrimage.

He explained that the bodies have already been conveyed to the King Fahad Hospital Madina and currently the officials of Zamfara State Hajj Commission, State Government Delegation and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria are working on the formalities with the Saudi Authorities for their burials.

He stated that those who survived the accident were Alhaji Nasiru of Anka Local Government, Alhaji Tafa Nasarawa of Bukkuyum Local Government and Alhaji Garba Ziti of Gummi Local Government and they are responding to treatment in a hospital near the scene of the accident at about 120 kilometres away from the city of Medina.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum who prayed for the departed souls also condoled with their families and the survivors of the accident for the quick recovery.
