Gov Yari conducts primaries at night to avoid INEC hammer

BARELY less than 4 hours to the deadline given by Independent National Electorate Commission (INEC) to end primary elections, Governor Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar of Zamfara State has given a directive to commence election to avoid INEC hammer.

The Governor maintained that he would not afford to lose candidates of various position in the State.

Earlier on there was tension as aspirants of All Progressives Congress (APC) had thwarted effort to produce 2019 governorship and National Assembly candidates as a result of crisis within the party in the State.

The State Governor has announced that the APC governorship, National and State assembly primaries scheduled to hold today would start around 8 pm throughout the State and the result would be announced before the deadline.

Meanwhile, Governor Yari in a recent world press conference at the Government House, Gusau after stakeholders/security meeting on the rescheduled APC primaries has assured of the protection of lives and properties of every citizen of the State.

Yari said as the leader of the APC in the State he would not afford to lose candidates in the State.
