Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Friday officially swore in 15 new commissioners as members of the State Executive Council, urging them to uphold transparency and accountability in their service.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the City Hall in Lafia, the state capital, followed the screening and confirmation of 16 commissioner nominees by the State House of Assembly. However, one nominee, Princess Margaret Elayo, was unable to participate due to unspecified reasons.
In his address, Gov Sule emphasised his administration’s commitment to prudent resource management and warned the new commissioners against corruption.
“I charge you all to be dedicated to your duties and be result-oriented. This administration is anchored on accountability, transparency, and prudent management of public resources, so you should avoid all corrupt tendencies while discharging your duties,” he said.
The governor explained that the appointments were made after thorough consultations with stakeholders across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to implementing policies that would positively impact residents.
