Gov Sani flags-off 35km road in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has flagged off the construction of a 35-kilometre road to link Gadar Gayan, Gwaraji and Maraban Kujama towns in the State.

In the same vein, the Governor received a rousing welcome, as he flagged off the construction of a kilometres signboard, Juji to bypass road in the seemingly abandoned Sabon Tasha area Chikun local government area.

Flagging off the road construction project at Gadar Gayan on Monday, Governor Sani said the road is one of the many projects lined up by his administration to bridge the gap between the rural and urban areas, as well as make rural living pleasurable.

The Governor who was flanked by his Deputy, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe added that, aside from the immediate employment opportunities it will create along the benefiting communities, the 35-kilometre road will on completion after 12 months, link the farming communities with markets.

“Our government is determined to facilitate commerce and opportunities through the provision of good road networks.

“Igabi and Chikun local government areas have huge agricultural potentials, hence we are committed to giving our local farmers the necessary support required to boost their yields and market their produce.

“We want to bridge the gap between the rural and urban areas. We want to make rural life a pleasurable experience, and that is why we are persuading our rural transformation agenda with zeal.

“During the construction of this road, there will be job opportunities for skilled and unskill workers. When the road is completed, every town from the two local governments and communities along the route will be safer. Post-harvest losses by farmers will be drastically reduced

“It is now my honour and privilege to perform the groundbreaking for the construction of the 35-kilometer road from Gadar Gayan through Gwaraji to Kujama junction, linking Igabi and Chikun Local Government Areas. I want to also thank everyone who has supported us from the beginning to this moment,” he said.
