Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed his condolences to the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state over the passing of one of its senior members, Mr. Mathias Omale, who died on Monday in Lokoja.
In a condolence message delivered through a press statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo described the veteran journalist’s death as a great loss to the journalism profession in the state.
The Governor sympathised with the family and friends of the deceased, commending the dedication and hard work Mr. Omale demonstrated during his active years in journalism.

He further highlighted that the late Mr. Omale made a significant impact as a staff member of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, where he inspired many young journalists in the state until his retirement as Deputy Director in the News Department.
The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant his family the strength to bear the loss.
