Gov. Makinde, appoint more women into your cabinet

It has been an exciting moment for women in Oyo State when a woman was announced by the government as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The position of the SSG is a sensitive one and putting a woman there is laudable.

The SSG should do her best and be productive so that the governor will be encouraged to appoint more women into his cabinet.

UPDATE: Newly promoted Lt. Gen. Adeosun not Chief of Army Staff, says Army

Similarly, I want to call on the governor to appoint more women for gender balance. As a matter of fact, the Oyo State governor is expected to speak to the contractor who is paying the women sweeping all major roads in Ibadan to pay their salaries on time.  It is unfair to learn that these cleaners’ salaries are not paid regularly.

There are many worthy women in Oyo State that can be given appointments. They should be allowed to serve and contribute their quota to the progress of Oyo state. The period of neglecting female child to embrace the  male child is gone; there is nothing a man can do that a woman cannot do.

The women of Oyo State are part of those who voted for Governor Makinde. He shouldn’t forget to appoint the physically challenged people too; it is obvious that the physically challenged people would also do their bit to improve the society.
