Gov Lalong political associate joins 2019 guber race on platform of PDP in Plateau

A strong political associate of Governor Simon Bako Lalong, Dr Godfrey Bawa has joined 2019 gubernatorial race on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and promised to abide by the zoning arrangement in Plateau State by spending just 4 years in office if elected as the governor of the state.

Speaking with newsmen in Jos, Dr Bawa who said people of Plateau State have tasted All Progressive Congress and now Know the difference between APC and PDP stated that the change the party promised is not what the people of Plateau State and Nigeria is experiencing today.

“I am in the race to make our people enjoy a better life, Governor Lalong has tried his best. I am not in the race to judge his administration but I am in the race to contribute my quota to the development of our dear state. We have seen the difference between APC and PDP.”

Dr Bawa who is an international businessman said if elected as governor of the state, he would use his international connections to lure investors into Plateau State and as well create a conducive atmosphere for business to strive to add that Plateau State needs to move from subsistence level to make an impact in Nigeria.

He promised that the insecurity in the state would be tackled head-on by exploring all instrumentality peace and as well engage in robust dialogue among various groups in the state to bring about lasting peace.

Said he: ” The insecurity in the state will be given adequate attention, my administration, if elected as the governor, will engage in dialogue and explore it to the latter because without peace there is no way we can develop the state and bring about desire progress ”

Dr Bawa who said PDP has overcome its problems as a political party added that stalwarts of the party have learnt their lessons and asked for forgiveness adding that PDP has also become a bride to politicians and a veritable platform they could get justice.

He, however, condemned the recent invasion of the National Assembly by Security agencies adding that it was an embarrassment to Nigeria and called on the political class to play politics with decorum.
