Gov Kefas presents N429.9bn 2025 budget to Taraba Assembly

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on Monday, presented the 2025 budget estimate of ₦429,898,968,402.31 to the State House of Assembly for consideration.

Tagged the “Budget of Transformation,” the proposal reflects the administration’s commitment to repositioning Taraba as a hub for growth and opportunities.

Governor Kefas disclosed that the budget allocates 39.9% to recurrent expenditure, while capital expenditure is set to consume 61% of the total sum.

Speaking at the presentation, the governor highlighted his administration’s progress, noting that “the 2024 budget recorded a 46.7% implementation rate so far,” and assured that mechanisms are in place to achieve better performance in 2025.

Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Kizito Bonzana, acknowledged significant strides in security, education, human capital development, workers’ welfare, and infrastructural rehabilitation under the Kefas administration.

He commended the governor’s efforts and pledged the legislature’s commitment to ensuring a swift yet thorough passage of the budget.

“The House will work round the clock to ensure the quick passage of the budget without compromising on thoroughness,” the Speaker assured.
