Gov Ishaku debunk report of illegal security camp outfit discovered in Taraba

GOVERNOR Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has expressed his dismay over the report published in some national dailies as alleged by Lt Col Sani Adamu that the military has discovered an illegal security outfit at Serti Baruwa in Gashaka local government area.

In a press statement sign by the governor’s senior special assistant on Media and Publicity, Bala Danhabu said the camp claim to be an illegal security outfit by Sani was a legal training camp set by Taraba State government to train marshal that will handle Open Grazing Restriction and Establishment of Ranches Law.

“The truth is that the Taraba State government is not involved in any illegal training of security personals in any part of the state, the training being conducted for the government by a licensed security agency – GH Security Service LTD is for training of marshals as approved by the Taraba State house of assembly under the state’s Open Grazing Restriction and Establishment of Ranches Law.

The statement said the legislation was duly made by the state house of assembly and provides opportunity in the law to train marshals that will assist in the enforcement of the law across the State.

“The current training in Serti Gashaka local governments area of Taraba State is the second of such exercise in the state and we would like to say with emphasis that this training does not involve the use of any form of weapons.

“Before the training started, all the formations of security agencies in the state including the one Lt Col. Sani Adamu were informed in writing, all the letters were duly signed and acknowledgement copies of these letters returned by these agencies are in our possession.

“The government is, therefore, surprise that one of the recipients of these letters could turn round to deny knowledge of the training which is being conducted in the open public school.

The governor caution against any attempt by any security agency to politicise the genuine and patriotic efforts of the government to solve some of the problems affecting the unity and peaceful coexistence among the people.
