Gov Inuwa approves rejig of Gombe permanent secretaries, assigns new portfolios

The Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, on Tuesday, approved the rejig of the state civil service by the redeployment of some permanent secretaries to enhance administrative efficiency and improve governance.

The Governor’s approval was conveyed by the Head of Civil Service, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, who explained that the new postings are part of the government’s strategy to improve service delivery and accelerate progress.

The affected Permanent Secretaries and their new portfolios are as follows: Yambiyu Idris Buba – from the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Transport to the Ministry of Higher Education, Danladi Adamu – from the Ministry of Water, Environment, and Forest Resources to the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Transport as well as Modi Shelphidi – of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development to oversee the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare.

Others are: Jidaya Abba – from the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, Muhammed Ibrahim Jalo – from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperatives and Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu – from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperatives to the Ministry of Health.

Also moved are: Sa’adatu Bome Ishaya – from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare to the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), Ahmed Yunusa Muhammed – from the Ministry of Higher Education to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Abubakar Babayo Hassan – from the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism to the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs and Muhammad Bello Abubakar Kumo – Appointed from his role as Liquidator/Sole Administrator of GOSIPDC to oversee the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment, and Forest Resources.

The Head of Civil Service stated that the Governor expects the newly posted Permanent Secretaries to bring their wealth of experiences to bear in their new roles.

He also charged them to work diligently towards meeting the administration’s objectives of delivering enhanced services to the people of Gombe State.
