Gov Inuwa appoints Umar Mohammed acting provost for college of health science, technology

Gombe Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of Dr Umar Mohammed as Acting Provost/Sole Administrator of the Gombe State College of Health Science and Technology, Kaltungo.

The Governor’s approval was conveyed by the Commissioner of Higher Education, Mohammed Shattima Gadam. 

He disclosed that Dr Umar Mohammed’s appointment followed the resignation of the former Acting Provost,  Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho who contested and won the position of Chairman of Kwami Local Government in the recently conducted local council election.

Dr Umar Mohammed, a seasoned Academic with extensive leadership experience, was until this appointment, the Director of Academic Planning at the Federal University of Kashere.

He will hold the position in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Provost.

The Governor expects the new Acting Provost to bring his wealth of academic and administrative experience to bear in ensuring the smooth operation and development of the institution. 

The appointment is with immediate effect as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House Gombe.
