On Wednesday, Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris, signed the 2024 appropriation bill into law at the Council Chamber. He also took the opportunity to distribute 26 posh cars to his commissioners to facilitate their official functions.

While expressing gratitude to the members of the State House of Assembly for their speedy passage of the budget within the shortest possible time, the governor stated that the feat demonstrated by the Hon. Members showed they are on the same page with the Executive in the race to take Kebbi State to the next level of greater development.

Comrade Idris assured the honourable members that the Executive arm of the government is 100 per cent ready to partner with them in all aspects of the infrastructural development of the State.

“This is a transparent budget for the infrastructural development of Kebbi State, to which every one of us is committed,” he said.

Earlier in his speech, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Usman Ankwei stated that the signing of the budget into law marked a significant milestone in the journey to the greatness of the State.

The Hon. Speaker mentioned that members extensively studied and scrutinized every aspect of the budget, bringing the collective aspirations of the people to bear in the areas of education, health, and agriculture. This underscores the governor’s priority for the three major state development and growth sectors.

In a related development, Governor Nasiru Idris distributed 26 posh cars to his 26 commissioners shortly after signing the budget into law to facilitate their official functions.

He issued them strong warnings not to use the vehicles for personal purposes, adding that they must be committed to their people in their various localities. Anyone found to be neglecting their people would be removed immediately.
