Gov Idris donates two bulls, N3m to Kebbi Corps members

The Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has donated the sum of N3 million and two big bulls to the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to Kebbi State for their Batch ‘A’ stream 2, 2024 service year at Dakingari Orientation Camp.

The governor, who was represented by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena said the donation was part of the present administration’s commitment to uplift youths and youth-related activities in the state.

He described Kebbi State as a cosmopolitan state known for the promotion of peaceful coexistence, adding that it was also a state enriched with abundant human and natural resources and a rich cultural heritage.

In a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris quoted the governor saying that the state is blessed with abundant agricultural produce, thereby making it an agricultural hub suitable for healthy enterprise.

“I enjoin you all to pay utmost attention to this noble call to serve our great nation. Let me also encourage you to rededicate yourselves to achieving the scheme’s goals and objectives of unity, integration and national cohesion,” he said.

He then admonished them to pay attention to all training and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the NYSC scheme.

In her remarks, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Okolo Agatha-Banki thanked the Kebbi State Governor for supporting the scheme as well as ensuring the success of the orientation programme.

She added that a total number of 1,739 corps members were posted to serve in the two states of Kebbi and Zamfara while Kebbi State had 1,288, Zamfara State got 451 corps members respectively.

“The purpose of the orientation course is to equip corps members with techniques and skills on how to face challenges of leadership during their services year and beyond,” she said.

She then urged them to uphold a high sense of discipline, tolerance and proper understanding of the essence of the orientation course.
