Gov Bello appoints Prof Avidime as CMD Reference Hospital

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has appointed Professor Solomon Avidime as the Chief Medical Director, at the State Reference Hospital Okene.

The appointment was contained in a letter by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folashade Arike Ayoade, and to take effect from July 24th, 2023.

According to the letter, the appointment “is for an initial period of two (2) years and subject to renewal upon satisfactory performance”.

The Reference Hospital Okene, built by Governor Bello, was commissioned by former President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2022.

Meanwhile, the Ebira Doctors Forum (EDF) has extended its warm appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, over the recent appointment of Prof. Solomon Avidime, as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Kogi State Reference Hospital, Okene.

A statement by the President of EDF, Dr Kabiru Zubair on Friday in Lokoja, commended the governor and described the gesture as an “Exceptional Appointment”.

According to him, in an era where healthcare delivery needs seasoned leadership, the appointment of Prof. Avidime as the CMD of Reference Hospital, Okene, has resonated with the medical community.

“The Ebira Doctors Forum (EDF) wholeheartedly extends its deepest gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello, for his discerning choice.

“Prof Avidime’s reputation precedes him as a leader in the medical field, a scholar with integrity, and a professional with a passion for healthcare.

“His numerous accomplishments and unrelenting dedication to patient care make him the perfect candidate for this prestigious role,” the forum said.
