Gov Bala seeks Assembly’s confirmation of three commissioner-nominees

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has sent a request for the confirmation of three persons as Honourable Commissioner nominees to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.

The letter dated August 13, 2024, was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim.

The letter, as sighted by Tribune Online, reads: “I am pleased to convey to you and the Honourable House the warm greetings of His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, CON, and to inform you that he has approved the submission of the following persons for confirmation as Honourable Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council.”

The names submitted for approval are Engr. Mohammed Binni Abdulkadir from Itas/Gadau Local Government to replace Hon. Hajara Jibrin Gidado, who recently resigned.

Recall that Hajara Gidado resigned her appointment to contest as the chairperson of her LGA in next Saturday’s LGA elections.

Another nominee is Hon. Sani Mohammed Dambam from Dambam Local Government, who is to replace the late Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Jalam.

Recall that the late Ahmad Aliyu Jalam died in a fatal auto crash two months ago on his way to Potiskum in Yobe State to meet his family.

The other person is Hon. Zainab Baban Takko from Bauchi Local Government, who is to replace Hon. Mahmood Babamaji, who recently resigned.

Mahmood Babamaji, one of the youngest commissioners in the Cabinet, resigned to pick the PDP ticket for the chairmanship of the LGA in next Saturday’s elections.

The letter further contained, “Attached herewith are the curriculum vitae of the nominees for your consideration. Please accept, Mr. Speaker, my highest esteemed regards.”
