Gov Bala flags off 29km road construction

In continuation of opening up rural areas by linking the various agrarian communities through access road, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, on Wednesday, flagged off the construction of 29km Boi – Gambar – Martin road to connect Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas.

It was a moment of jubilation for the people of the LGAs who gathered at Lere town to receive the Governor as he fulfilled one of his campaign promises to them.

The 29 km Boi – Gambar – Sara – Marti to Lere road which was promised to the people during his re-election campaign, had remained a long sort for project by the people.

The road is the first of its kind and when completed will open up the various communities in the axis and thus improve the standard of living of people.

Bala Mohammed while flagging off the project said that road infrastructure enhances various economic and security activities and that he remains committed to addressing the challenges facing people at the grassroots level.

The Governor took the opportunity to appeal to people in the local government areas to continue to support his administration and the contractor to enable it to succeed in executing the project according to specifications and timely.

The Commissioner of Works and Transport, Hon Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, and the representative of the construction company, Habibu Engineering Limited assured the people that the quality project would be done for them.

Stakeholders who included, traditional rulers both Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas, Caretaker Committee Chairmen, Samaila Wakili and Mark Lusa, Hon Musa Nakwada, Hon Abdul Rashid Mauzu, Sen Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, Hon Hassana Arkila among others appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for coming to help people by awarding the contract.

They pledged their loyalty and unrivalled support, loyalty to the Governor and his administration asking for further support and intervention.

In his vote of thanks, Emir of Bauchi, Alh Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu appreciated the Governor for giving him the opportunity to be part of the development of the state.

The emir noted that all the projects of the Bala Mohammed-led administration have a direct impact on people’s lives which he said is part of democracy.
