Gov Bago inaugurates two special committees

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated two special Committees in the state.

The committees are: a 21-member State Committee on Population and Housing Census and an 18-man Committee on Boundary Dispute between Bida and Kontagora Emirates.

The Governor inaugurated the two committees simultaneously at the Council Chamber of Government House, Minna.

He expressed confidence in the personalities that constituted the Committees and called on them to justify the confidence reposed on them by being committed and diligent in discharging their duties.

The Governor assured the Committees of his unwavering support to ensure they achieve their set objectives.

Speaking to Journalists, the Alternate Chairman of the Committee on Population and Housing Census, who doubles as the Federal Commissioner representing Niger State at the National Population Commission, (NPC) Mohammed Dattijo Usman, commended the Governor for finding them worthy of the Committee.

He said the committee is very loaded by its composition, and assured that it will hit the ground running immediately to give its best for the state and the nation at large.

The Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba is Chairman of the Population and Housing Census Committee, with Dr Sylvester Christopher, Director-General, Niger State Population and Census Directorate, as the Secretary, while the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, is Chairman of the Committee on Boundary Dispute between Bida and Kontagora Emirates, Abbas Bello as the Co-Chairman and the Permanent Secretary Lands, Dr. Hussaini Abdullahi will serve as the Secretary.
