Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has delivered a truckload of 600 bags of rice and 20 live cows to the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in the state.
The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Olayinka Abdulwahab, stated this in an interview in Minna on Thursday.
Recall that the governor on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, during the swearing-in of the 2024 Batch B, Stream One orientation course, announced the donation of a trailer load of 600 bags of rice, 20 cows and N200,000 each as a bonus for the comfort of corps members willing to serve in the state.
The Governor equally promised to sink five boreholes and additional toilet facilities for both male and female hostels.
Olayinka further disclosed that she had taken delivery of 600 bags of rice and 20 cows, adding that items were received with great elation by both corps members and camp officials.
She said the process for the payment of the N200,000 was ongoing, while the survey for the five boreholes and the toilets announced by the governor has commenced.
The State Coordinator said the donation of the items would help mitigate the challenges faced by course participants during orientation exercises.
