Gov Bago commissions new five solar boreholes at NYSC camp in Paiko

Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, on Friday, commissioned newly constructed five solar boreholes at the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp of the State.

The Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Services, Abdullahi Legbo, said the construction of new boreholes is to ensure adequate water supply for members of NYSC in the orientation camp.

He tasked corps members to join in the rewarding journey of nation-building, saying that NYSC remains one of the strongest tools for maintaining national unity and development.

“The scheme has been able to sustain its mandate of mobilising Nigerian graduate youths and instilling in them noble qualities of patriotism, teamwork, integrity and tolerance,” he said.

Governor Umaru Bago commended corps members for their contributions to the developmental strides in all sectors of the economy, saying the scheme remains a beacon of hope for the future Nigeria.

He advised corps members to leverage on the “Digital Literacy for All” campaign, launched by the Federal government in collaboration with the NYSC, saying developed economies are technology-driven.

The Governor however assured that the state government would continue to provide an enabling environment for corps members and provide befitting orientation camp for their comfort.

She urged the corps members to take advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to learn a skill and nurture it.

Abdulwahab commended the corps members for their exemplary behaviour and urged them to remain at their best throughout the orientation course and beyond.

Similarly, the Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG) and Chairman of NYSC Governing Board, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, urged corps members to promote national unity and development.

Usman, represented by Mr Paul Timothy, Director in SSG Office, advised them to respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities throughout their service year.

He said the board remained committed to facilitating accommodation, transportation, security, and other essential amenities for the welfare and overall success of the corps members during their service year.
