Gov Bago celebrates Major General Gado Nasko on 83rd birthday

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has congratulated a brilliant, honest, selfless, passionate and elder statesman with a deep sense of patriotism, Major General Gado Nasko Wamban Kontagora on his 83rd birthday.

The Governor in a birthday message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Bologi Ibrahim, commended the passion of the celebrant in helping the people, especially the less privileged.

He said Major General Nasko has paid his dues in terms of contributions to nation-building and selfless service to humanity.

Governor Umaru Bago recalled that as a former Military Administrator of Old Sokoto State from 1978 to 1979, the celebrant has made his mark across various sectors.

He maintained that Nasko has written his name in gold in the history of Nigeria having served as the Minister of Trade, Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development, and Federal Capital Territory Abuja, at different times, all under the then Military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(rtd).

Bago said the Nation has experienced a drastic positive shift in the areas of infrastructural development, establishment of agencies and implementation of developmental policies, among others, under the watch of the celebrant as a Minister in all the Ministries he served.

He said the State is indeed proud of Gado Nasko, as he has remained resolute in his humanitarian services.

While wishing the celebrant a blessed birthday, the Governor prayed to Allah to continue to grant him good health and strength to sustain his service to humanity.
