Gov Aliyu hails Davkem investment drive in Sokoto

The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Ahmed Aliyu, has commended the management of Davkem for its investment drive in the state, which he said aligns with his development plan.

The governor made this statement on Saturday during the grand opening ceremony of another branch of Davkem Restaurant and Conference Hall in the state.

Represented by the State Commissioner of Commerce, Hon. Haruna Abbas Bashar, the governor noted that Davkem’s investment drive aligns with his vision of enhancing the visibility of businesses across the state.

“The development and beautification of Sokoto by the current administration is geared towards making the state a pride for all,” he said.

“Davkem’s investment will further put Sokoto on the map as a conducive business destination for all. The restaurant will not only create more employment opportunities but also generate positive ripple effects on the lives of those engaged.”

He continued, “This effort highlights the positive impact private enterprises can have on the economy of our dear state.

“To further encourage economic growth, we have implemented investor-friendly policies, including ensuring the speedy allocation and documentation of land.”

Earlier, in his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO/MD) of Davkem Restaurant, Mr David Agbonyin Adesola, described Sokoto State as an investment destination with unmatched peace.

Adesola, who spoke during the official opening of Davkem Restaurant, Event Centre, Bakery, and Playground, said, “Sokoto not only welcomes visitors but also supports them in establishing businesses.”

“Sokoto is a land of peace and a place to invest. The state is very peaceful, with humble and welcoming people. Sokoto not only loves visitors but also wants your businesses to grow.”

“I owe my gratitude to the state government and everyone in the state. I am also calling on prospective investors, both within and outside the country, to consider investing in Sokoto State as it is a prime location for business growth,” he said.
