The Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN), will today honour former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Oyo and Osun states governors, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Mr Rauf Aregbesola with an award of excellence for their service to humanity, contributions to the growth of culture and the nation at large.
The association will also honour the Ondo State governor-elect, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), Seyi Makinde and a host veterans gospel musicians and elders of the association including Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye (KSA), Pastor Joseph Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa, Evangelist Bola Are, among others at the event tagged: “Inauguration and Award Ceremony” of the new national executives of the association which will hold at Jogor Center, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the new president, Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye, all is set to host dignitaries from all walks of life as well as to celebrate notable Nigerians who have impacted greatly to the development of the country.
She added that, “the event is also to ascertain that there is a new dawn in the association. The entire members are also ready to bring back the association to its rightful place in the industry with the support of God and well-meaning Nigerians. My goal is to transform the association and most importantly give the up-and-coming artistes a facelift and I am full of confident that the gospel musicians industry will experience a total change this time.”
The event will also be graced by popular and up-and-coming gospel artistes and also fans across the nation.
