Music has always been a unifying force for people in a society that is often divided by differences. However, gospel music has an even more powerful message of faith and hope that bring together people from diverse backgrounds in a shared experience.
For gospel singer, songwriter and worship leader, Evangelist Ogbonna Alfred, music should serve as a platform to advocate for unity, understanding and spiritual awakening.
Speaking with R in an interview, Alfred said music should speak to the core of human experience, addressing themes of divinity, love, redemption, and the quest for peace that touches the soul of humanity.
In his new single, entitled “Monerimo”, he noted that single is not just a song but a powerful testimony to the unbreakable spirit of God that he and other gospel musicians experience and share with the world.
Talking about his latest song, “Monerimo”, Alfred described it as a “powerful and pure sonic testament to the overwhelming power of the Spirit of the Almighty God – The Holy Spirit, which engulfs like a consuming fire.”

He disclosed that “this song was created during a moment of deep meditation and connection with the divine” showcasing Alfred’s deep devotion and respect for the omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, and incomprehensible enormity of God, the creator and essence of all.
As a psalmist, he is driven by his passion for spreading the good news through the universal language of music. “Monerimo” is a reflection of this divine calling, a song that aims to uplift spirits and bring listeners closer to the essence of their creator.
The impact of gospel music is vast and beyond mere entertainment, as illustrated by Evangelist Ogbonna Alfred and his latest single. It is a vital force that contributes to social cohesion, cultural identity, and spiritual rejuvenation.
