Gombe university expels 23 students, rusticates another for exams malpractice, forgery

Twenty four students of the Federal University, Kashere (FUK) in Gombe State have been expelled and rusticated from the institution for their involvement in examinations malpractice as well as forgery in violation of the laws of the University which they swear to abide by on admission. 

The disclosure was contained in a statement by the Head of Information and Protocol of the University, Suleiman Malami who stated that the expulsion has been ratified by the university management which also approved the rustication of another student.

According to the statement, the action taken by the school management followed the recommendations of the Senate of the university arrived at during its 68th regular meeting held recently.

The statement contained that, “the Senate of the University at its 68th regular meeting held on Sept. 23, 2021 had considered and approved their expulsion and rustication with immediate effect,”. 

The erring students were found wanting for forging results and examination misconduct, the statement further contained.

According to the statement, the Registrar of the University, Alhaji Kabiru Garba-Aminu, has said that arrangements have been concluded for smooth resumption of students for the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic session.

The Registrar called on parents to ensure that their wards returned to school on good time as academic activities would commence immediately after registration in order to catch up with the remainder of the session.

Kabiru Garba Aminu according to the statement however reiterated the commitment of the university management to providing a conducive learning and teaching environment towards ensuring a hitch free semester.

The registrar further urged the university host communities to cooperate and support the management as well as the students to have a hitch-free atmosphere that will enhance academic and social activities while the institution is in session.
