Gombe State Police has cracked down on Black Spots within the state which led to the arrests of nine suspects and recovery of suspected hard drugs.
The arrested suspects are: Muhammad Mamuda Abubakar, aged 19, Abba Sani, aged 22, Ismail Usman, aged 19, Abba Dama Sadiq, aged 19 and Isah Muhammad, aged 25.
Others are Aminu Ibrahim, aged 25, Sani Ali, aged 21, Babayo Lawan, aged 20 and. Usman Muhammad, aged 40 as contained in a statement by Command PPRO, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar.
He stated that the effort was in a concerted effort to uphold public safety and combat illicit activities which made the Gombe Divisional Police Headquarters, through its Patrol 999 team, conduct a successful raid on black spots within the community on the evening of February 7, 2024.
The PPRO explained that at approximately 10:00 PM, the team, led by diligent officers, apprehended Nine individuals suspected of involvement in illegal drug-related activities.
Among the confiscated items were dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp and Exol/Yellow tablets suspected to be hard drugs.
According to him, all the suspects are male and hailed from various addresses within the vicinity of the state.
In a similar operation, not fewer than 22 suspects were arrested by the same team.
This significant operation underscored the unwavering commitment of the Gombe State Command to rid the community of criminal elements and safeguard the well-being of its residents stressing that such operations are important in maintaining law and order.
The Gombe Police then urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperative, as collaborative efforts are crucial in ensuring a safer and more secured environment for all.
